Delivery

Pallet Deliveries

All our deliveries are made via a nationwide pallet network; this means bulk bags and ploy bags of aggregates are NOT DELIVERED using a hiab or crane. Delivery is made to the kerbside, as long as the ground is level and solid the driver will normally move the pallet to where you need it.

At Garden Hub, we like to keep things simple. The only extra charge which may be applicable is if you require next day delivery or delivery on a Saturday. This is calculated at the checkout stage.

Gravel driveways, uneven paving / rough concrete, grass or dirt areas and slopes are not suitable to move the pallets over, pallets cannot be moved over steps or ridges.  In this circumstance, the drivers’ discretion will be applied and the item maybe left at the kerbside. On the day of delivery, we do need to make sure someone is at home to sign the delivery note.

You must ensure that your access is suitable both at the delivery address and the road approaching the property. We advise that you take the following into consideration before placing your order;

  • Can a vehicle the size of a refuse truck gain access to your property?
  • Is the drop off point for the goods on a flat level surface, free of gravel and uneven paving etc? Pallet trucks cannot deliver on slopes.
  • You, or a designated individual, will be available to sign for the goods (See below for delivery times)
  • You have I given the correct delivery address, including a contact telephone number(s)?
  • Are there any low hanging branches?  The high sides of the vehicle may not be able to get under these, so please check.

Due to the size and weight of our items deliveries can currently only be made to UK Mainland postcodes.

Please find below an example of how your order will be loaded onto the delivery vehicle and then offloaded at your delivery address.

Deliveries are normally made between 8.00am and 6pm. Saturday deliveries (which incur an extra charge) are normally made between 8.00am and 12.00pm. When selecting a day for delivery we always suggest that this is a day which is convenient for you to stay at home until the delivery arrives as it will need to be signed for.

We aim to deliver all goods on the requested delivery day. However, we cannot be accountable for late deliveries as a result of factors outside our control, such as increased traffic, severe weather conditions and breakdown of delivery vehicles. In this circumstance, we aim to keep you as informed as possible.

We advise that if you need the goods for landscapers or builders etc, you order the goods to arrive in good time before the work is due to commence. We strongly advise that you do not book tradespeople until your goods have arrived and have been inspected. We will not cover consequential costs (including tradesperson cancellation charges) arising as a result of delivery delays.

We also have to detail charges which are applicable of orders are cancelled whilst en-route or returned to the depot due to ground/access conditions being unsuitable for pallet deliveries. Both cancelled orders and returned pallets due to access/ground conditions will incur a return delivery charge of £45.00 per pallet.

Where pallet delivery cannot be made on the arranged day due to access or unforeseen circumstances we will attempt redelivery at your request for a charge of £15.00 per pallet on the following day or when arranged. If you have any queries concerning this or any other issue please call us straight away on 0113 320 0890.

Garden Hub will not accept any liability for damages to property caused during delivery. Claims will be handled directly by the haulage company.
